THE WOMEN WHO

LOVED JESUS

THE WOMEN WHO LOVED JESUS

This inspiring book unveils the untold stories of the twelve women Jesus personally commissioned as his female Apostles—accounts first introduced in The Urantia Book. For the first time, each woman shares her experience of how Jesus awakened her to her inherent dignity, divine purpose, and spiritual equality with men. Through his guidance, they were ordained as ministers of the Gospel and taught the reality of the Holy Mother Spirit—God’s divine feminine counterpart.

These women played a powerful role in creating healing environments during Jesus’ public ministry and helped lay the spiritual and social foundations for what would become the early Christian movement. Their stories offer timeless wisdom and encouragement—especially now, as women across the globe step into their rightful roles as spiritual leaders, healers, and teachers.

AGAMAN

Jesus’ presence was such a stark contrast because of the love emanating from the very core of his being. This was a deep love, a profound love, an energizing love, and it changed me forever. It wasn’t until I experienced this love from Jesus that I truly began to understand what love really is and how it can change a person. Before that, I think I was only half alive.

CELTA

I am so grateful to share my story about how my experiences with Jesus became such a part of my soul and filled me with great joy. He opened me to a brand-new world—a world full of love and peace and goodness. And even though I still had to face some inner demons and unwanted outer cultural influences, he held me strong and steadfast. And this experience with our Master is the same for everyone. He is the foundation. He provides that inner foundation upon which each human soul can grow.

ELIZABETH

To say that my experiences with Jesus were life-changing is an understatement. Feelings of joy were springing up that I had never before experienced. I witnessed the same type of joyfulness in the women who had gathered around him and noticed that it carried a very palpable energy. I don’t mean to say that this joy and gladness was experienced at all times consistently throughout the day. It was rather like an all-pervading essence, something similar to a fragrant perfume that you could detect by a certain intuitive sense. This feeling was so magnetic that it brought us women together simply because it felt so good to be around Jesus.

JOANNA

One part of our story is vitally important for your day and time because it speaks to a type of ministry that is still very much underdeveloped in your current planetary culture. You might call it the culture of listening to the soul. And even though you have many types of therapies available to you that we did not have, we have one taught directly by the Master—the art of soulful listening and ministering the balm of love and compassion to each person.

MARTHA

My experience with Jesus was unlike any other I have ever had with another human. To those of you who are readers of the Bible or The Urantia Book, all I can say is that I recommend you spend more time in communion with him. Let his love resonate within; let him empower you as an individual and as a member of womanhood or manhood. You will sense more of your true power because Jesus validates who you are at the deepest level of your being. It is perceivable. It is palpable, and when you receive this love you are forevermore changed.

MARY MAGDALENE

Jesus knew I was broken in spirit and in body. He could see that in me, even though the women did not explicitly tell him what my profession had been. He just knew. He saw deep within me, and the understanding and compassion that flowed from him into my heart broke the spell of unworthiness. He uplifted me into a space where I was able to finally feel the dignity I knew was there but could not feel on my own. And this transformation happened because of the power of his love. Genuine love can work wonders when there is readiness to be healed and uplifted.

NASANTA

I first encountered Jesus during one of his public visits to our area. His fame preceded him as a teacher and healer. My curiosity was piqued, so my family and I went to hear him with his apostles in attendance. Prior to first seeing Jesus, my inner “rumblings” had become even more prominent. Something new was moving in me, something that I could feel but also found mystifying. When I listened to Jesus, this deep feeling connected with his words, as if they went right into me. He spoke a language that soothed these rumblings but was somehow activating and uplifting at the same time. I made bold to go before him and seek his blessing. He laid his hands upon my head, and I immediately felt energy shoot through his hands, move downward, and spark in my heart something I did not even know was there!

RACHEL

I soon began to hear more about Jesus from the gossip of the surrounding communities where he preached the living gospel of truth. I finally encountered Jesus on one of these preaching tours that brought him to Nazareth, where we lived. I immediately felt something stir within my soul and speak to my heart. I felt a deep hunger for more of the spiritual vitality that he so lavishly bestowed upon all who could receive his words of truth. I was mightily impressed by his demeanor—his composure, kindness, and graciousness. This man began to make a very profound mark on me, and I soon realized there was something quite special about him.

REBECCA

To say that I was smitten with Jesus underscores my deep love and devotion. Truly, just being in his presence was unlike any experience I have ever had with another person. This was not a romantic or sexual attraction; it was truly a soul-bond. I felt so close to him. Even though I did not see him very much, whenever he was in our midst, my bond with him was so strong that it left me almost speechless, being overcome with the love he emanated.

RUTH

Jesus elevated my self-awareness beyond my social status, and this enhancement gave me the courage to join the Women’s Corps. Even though I was very young in comparison to some other women, the group did not treat me like a child. Here again was another example of Jesus’ magnanimity. He did not regard age, gender, social status, racial inheritance, or religious tradition as a limiting factor in how he regarded a person. The purity of a person’s soul was what he most cared about. His loving demeanor and the way he comported himself around others was so unusual and so impressive.

SUSANNA

Jesus’ reputation grew as he traveled about, engaged in public preaching and healing. As the numbers of his followers swelled, it became obvious that their physical needs required attention. Several of our women moved into the physical care of those women, children, elderly, and infirm. I soon became involved with helping these people receive nourishment, medicines, and of course, spiritual counsel. You have heard from our other sisters how Jesus spent time with and ministered to needy individuals. He taught us to observe and then emulate his ministrations to those suffering in mind and body, and after a while we were emboldened to follow his example. And during this time some of my creative gifts began to show themselves more fully to the women.

AUTHOR'S STORY OF HER INITIAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE TWELVE WOMEN APOSTLES

My first personal interaction with the Twelve occurred in December 1999. I had recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area from Indianapolis to pursue my chosen work in spiritual ministry and healing. I had been practicing daily stillness meditation for many years, and a few years previous to this move I was able to break through to a higher energetic bandwidth. After that I made contact with a variety of spiritual and celestial personalities, who though unseen, had been assigned to assist me in developing my spiritual potential, helping me understand principles of healing based upon universal law, and in transmitting messages and teachings for others.

During my early days in California, I stayed with a friend who, like me, was a close student of the Urantia Revelation and who also had a strong interest in healing and in making contact with celestials. A third woman joined us who also shared our interests. One day, as we were meeting, a vision appeared in my mind’s eye of the Twelve. They were garbed in the clothing of their day but appeared luminous in glowing soft pastel shades. In fact, they were observing us! As I “saw” them, I also had a very strong feeling of encouragement—that they were cheering us on in our discussion—especially our focus on how to bring healing to more people. I had a sense they wanted us to start a corps of women healers much like their own ministering group that had been ordained by Jesus.

I told my friends what I was perceiving, and they were fascinated and energized. As we discussed the idea of establishing a new women’s corps, the vision expanded: I now “saw” Jesus looming large over us and the Twelve. He held out his hands, and in between them the “soul bodies” of the Twelve were lined up—beautiful beyond human imagination. Jesus was sharing his and their love with us! The feelings flowing from their hearts to ours moved us to tears, and the three of us instinctively felt the significance of what they were encouraging us to do. We immediately agreed to cultivate a corps of women who were interested in healing and teaching, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to follow through for various reasons.

During the intervening years before my next contact with the Twelve, my interest in healing and helping people develop spiritually led me to establish a ministry in 2002 called the Center for Christ Consciousness, now the Institute of Christ Consciousness (ICC). I began receiving information from my invisible spiritual teachers about how human consciousness was designed and functions, and I often shared transmissions of their teachings. I was also fortunate to have people experience my offerings, and some were also interested in becoming healers.

My Work with the Twelve to Establish a Modern Women’s Corps

In 2010 I was again contacted by the Twelve and encouraged to establish a healing corps based upon their healing work as taught by Jesus. At the time I had recently moved to Delray Beach, Florida. My ministry was well established, and I was busy conducting healing work and public transmission sessions. It was during one healing session that the Twelve appeared and asked me if I would start a healing corps. I was flabbergasted to say the least at hearing from them after such a long hiatus!

Later that evening, they re-appeared and gave me more information: they elaborated upon their role which I had come to understand from my study of the Urantia text. They told me they were instrumental in helping women and children come to Jesus and to God. They also said they were able to relate to Jesus’s teachings in a way that most men could not understand or emulate. The Twelve further told me that their strong intuitive and emotional ties to Jesus remained after his resurrection, and that they had become adept at healing in the manner Jesus taught. They listened to the people who came for healing and allowed them to speak from their hearts. They ministered by acting as catalysts to spark that deep soul hunger that opens people to the presence of God Within.

While they moved within a limited sphere of influence because of the social conditions of their time, they still made a huge impression. Their hearts were full of his love, and they conveyed that compassion in ways the male Apostles could not. They also shared other things with me of an emotional nature that are too challenging to describe.

I made the decision to take them up on their proposal to create a new healing corps. I contacted several like-minded individuals who joined me in this venture, and we began our collaboration with the Twelve in December 2010. We met via phone every two weeks, went into group meditation, and made contact with the Twelve.

Over time they taught us to experiment with transmitting healing energies to people who needed healing—both physically and psychologically. We also collaborated with the Twelve to bring about an energetic transformation in the way the institutions of health and healing are administered in our planetary culture. Our times with them were always profoundly moving. Sometime in 2017 I sensed that we had accomplished what we had been asked to achieve, but our group also felt that something else would come of our work together.

The Twelve Request That Their Story Be Told

In December 2018, the Twelve approached me yet again, this time requesting my help in sharing their story with the world. Changes occurring within Christianity were bringing about more parity in the role of men and women in the Church. The Twelve told me they wanted to encourage both men and women in their personal relationships with Jesus, and to also set the record straight about Jesus’ relationship with his female followers.

It may be challenging to think that women who lived two millennia ago are able to convey their stories in this way. I ask the reader to simply keep an open mind and allow their accounts to touch your heart. As the conduit for their story, I hope you find their accounts refreshing, insightful, and profound.

These twelve women shaped history behind the scenes. Their efforts were essential in the development of the Christian Church. It is time for their stories to uplift all modern men and women and inspire them to expand their personal relationship with Jesus, just as did “The Women Who Loved Jesus.”

PRAISES FOR THE WOMEN WHO LOVED JESUS

Dr. Jacqueline Chan

Author of Regenerate Your Brain

As a female physician practicing for 25 years I have often felt I had to hide and subdue my Christian heart or I would be ostracized by my peers. This fear of persecution as well as a subtle inner hesitation often felt irrational, but it was my most authentic truth that I could not bend. In reading Donna's book, I feel a liberation of this fear going back over 2,000 years through the endorsement of Jesus to the women apostles as members of a Woman's Evangelistic Corp. In hearing their sweet stories, as if they were talking to you not through words of academic theological study, rather as a dear soul sister in intimate words of deep sharing, the ropes, chains and shackles around my throat chakra were released at many levels. The result is an unleashing of a thirst to reconnect with Christ, his message, the powers of the Spiritual Truth and the camaraderie of a group of women blessed to do the same.

These impactful transmissions from the women apostles, who mightily helped lay the foundation for Jesus’ earthly ministry, will have a resounding outreach, not only during the era in which this book is published, but also to future generations. Learning about their ministry especially as enhanced through the bestowal of the Spirit of Trust at Pentecost, and their subsequent laying the foundation of the early church, will inspire and catalyze others in their unique callings and abilities.

We only knew half the story until this book appeared. Now I feel complete, seeing Jesus for the first time through the hearts of his women apostles. Each of their stories is unique but in one way they are the same—they deeply loved Jesus, and this love produced profound transformations in their lives

Realizing personal self-worth remains a struggle for many in our time. Jesus elevated the status of all downtrodden people, especially women, as evidenced by the inspiring narratives presented here from the twelve female apostles closest to him. It is time for the world to know about these courageous women!

As a therapist I found this book to be richly and deeply comforting to all women who feel pushed into the background due to male domination over the millennia. The twelve women’s personalities come through as a rich tapestry of unique colors speaking to us as powerful voices from our history. I cannot recommend it enough!

How refreshing that each woman recounts her life-altering spiritual transformation and shares her inner life with God. And how delightful that their sharing extended to an intimacy with one another that surpasses what men can accomplish among themselves.
